Jeeps, Bumps and Brussels...

In preparing for expanding family matters later this year we thought it was about time we bit the bullet and invested in a second vehicle... now we're proud owners of a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

So far we're loving it - a great 4x4 with high safety ratings for when the little one arrives and comfortingly bigger on the road than the trusty ol' Plymouth Breeze (aka Adam's Devon Wind!). The Breeze, incidentally, is still going strong (touch wood) so we only hope the Jeep treats us so well.

The Jeep is already proving itself in the snowy weather we've been having, and we're in for yet another snow storm tomorrow through Wednesday.

Anyway, there have been calls from home for some pics of the new motor so here's a few to keep you going... the roof rack, slush mats and cargo cover should be fitted this Friday (btw, no off-roading yet... nor is any planned).

Adam managed to rearrange all the crap, errm, I mean 'useful things that are stored in the garage' so we can get both vehicles in now

Here's the Jeepster - less than 10 months old and lots of $$s cheaper than a new one :)

Note how we carefully chose it to be more or less dirt coloured

Safi is not best pleased at having to ride in the boot/trunk now, and with a pet barrier to separate her from the comfy seats as well! How very inconsiderate of us.

Speaking of Safi, she was larking around in the snow while I took the Jeep shots... here she is playing deer...

... and trying to get out over the piled up snow by the side of the road...

...almost there...

Yeay! Now she's hot footing it to get back in front of the fire to warm up her belly again - it's f-f-f-f-freeeeeezing out today! 6F to be precise, which is -14C.

We thought we may as well put a new bump pic in too - almost 22 weeks here and looking/feeling a tad more bulbous.

Bubs is almost 22 weeks old in this pic, taken Sunday 10 Feb

Bubs is turning into a right wriggler too, giving Mum plenty of nudges to let us know he/she is alive and definitely kicking. :) :) :) Last Friday was the first time Bubs made Jayne's belly visibly move on the outside, tho inevitably Adam was at work and missed it - he hasn't felt anything yet but I don't suppose it will be long now before he does.

Adam is already proving that he intends to be a great Dad [and I know he will be - J]... we bought our very first items for the baby last week - two little bed time story books, which Adam has taken to reading to Jayne's belly most nights. :)

We took this pic on Sunday before Adam flew back to Europe, with the aim of giving it to Jayne's Nana who is quite poorly. Adam is speaking to the EU Parliament about trans fats and then heads to London to talk to the FSA (Food Standards Agency) before squeezing in a couple of days up North before heading Stateside again.

Bubs seems to be coming along very nicely indeed and delighted Daddy is reading the bedtime stories! Not quite sure what size you expect Bubs to be but the new family vehicle appears enourmous!!!

Lots of love,

Mam XXXX
