At the end of August Jack managed to talk Daddy into taking the afternoon off so we could all go to the fair. It was a scorching hot day so we didn't stay too long, but here are a few shots of us sweating it out at what is supposedly one of the best fairs in America.
Jack and Daddy by the big wheel
Jack and Mummy listen to the US Marine Corps Band
We saw some very big horses...
And some very big RVs!
Adam picked out the one he liked best
Dreams really do come true!? Jayne was in heaven to finally be at the wheel of a massive RV - she/we are still hoping to get our first proper holiday in years next year and hit the open roads for a mega RV tour with our little family - Safi included!
Now what's this??
Aaah, I see Daddy has already picked his seat!
Daddy and Jack check out the dairy cows
We even saw oxen
And little wanna-be oxen!
We listened for a little while about how the beasties are selected and trained, and how the yokes are fitted etc. We soon moved on tho... the owner was very into her oxen and didn't half go on! ;)
Cool sand sculpture!

Vermont's giant pumpkin competition... and no, Adam wasn't trying to make off with the winner... honest! Anyhow, we'd have needed more than Jack's stroller to get it shifted!
We felt bad for the one in 4th place... awww. Well, it's he taking part that counts, right?! And note the snake gourd - it kinda freaked us out a bit... we're not much into snakes of any variety (especially after Jayne was 'chased' by one in the back garden a few weeks back!)
"OMG! YES I DO!" shouted Jayne
I wonder if they're looking for new members? Maybe Jack could join when he's a bit older! Not sure the housing association will appreciate us growing giant veggies in our back garden tho...
