Jack's First Solids - December 9, 2008

Once Jack was totally over his bugs I decided it was high time he tried his hand at solids. Turns out he was quite ready for them, as you'll see in these pics... step-by-step Jack's very first EVER solids!

1. Take one almost 6-month old slightly hungry baby (check)
2. Position securely in chair and adorn with bib of your choice (check)

3. Mix up 1tbls baby rice with milk (check)
[What's that Mummy?]

4. Load baby spoon with small amount of prepared rice
[Errr...]

5. Offer to slightly hungry baby to see what he thinks of it
[No really, what IS that Mummy?]

6. Keep moving the spoon closer to slightly hungry baby's mouth
[What are you doing Mummy? Ha... you think you're going to put that in my mouth do you?...]

7. Almost there!
[Oh well, maybe I'll try it... since you've gone to all that effort and everything...]

8. Manouevre rice into mouth of slightly hungry baby
[Hold on! I think I've changed my mind Mummy!]

9. Take a pause to congratulate slightly less hungry baby on his first mouthful, successfully consumed without any rejection whatsoever! :)
[Actually, that wasn't bad at all Mummy, are you going to give me some more?]

10. Offer 2nd spoonful
[I'm ready!]

11. Offer 3rd spoonful, continue until done
[C'mon, load me up. I'm still hungry here...]

12. All done. Congratulate each other on mission accomplished, no voms, spillages or meltdowns on either part. :)
[No big deal Mummy. Are there any afters?]
