Christmas and New Year 2008-2009 (better late than never)

Here are some of the MANY many many pics we snapped over the holidays...

Dec 7 2008 - Jack's first Vermont snow. His very first snow however was... shock horror... in UK when we were back in November.

Thanks Auntie Ann and Uncle Joe for Jack's very first Christmas ornament. :)

And now... the Christmas card pics you didn't see... (and there were many tens, if not hundreds more than this!)...

Safi has her picture pose down first time... shame about the lighting and composition

Adam experiments with his flying/fallen angel pose... maybe next year dear?

Jack and Safi are SOOoooo thrilled to be in their Christmas get up...

Daddy works up a sweat trying to keep Jack and Safi in position... and happy... errm...

Can't I go now Mummy? It looks so much more interesting over there...

Seriously, I'm done sitting in this wannabe snow drift!

And finally... one of the shots we used! YEAY! You wouldn't believe it was mere seconds after the previous one...

20th December and Adam's folks were in town for the holidays. It was lovely and sunny out despite being bloomin' freezing so we all wrapped up and went for a quick walk.

Are you sure I'm going to be warm enough Mummy?

Aaaah yes. That's better. :)

Jack's ready to go!

What's Daddy up to??

Safi joins in the snow angel making... kind of...

Need a hand dear?

December 21 - Our back yard... it was certainly shaping up to be a white one.

December 22 - Jack meets Santa Claus (who would have guessed he'd be sitting around at the University Mall at his busiest time of they year?!)

[We'll put the final photo in here at some point... if/when we get to it!]

Dec 22 - Granny feeds Jack his dinner

Christmas Eve

Jack gets his Christmas jammies on...

Truth be told, he only had them on for literally 5 mins before he sickied all over them! Oh well.

CHRISTMAS DAY

8am (ish) - Jack wonders who put that stocking in his crib

A quick relocation to Mummy and Daddy's bed for opening the stocking :)

Yeay! An egg shaker... just what I always wanted. (Make sure you grab the right egg Jack... Daddy's in the next to nothing there!)

Wow! A clatterpillar, just like the one we have at Music Together

Sometime later we make it downstairs to see what else might have been left for us...

9ish - The first pressie unwrapped was the exersaucer from Grandma and Grandad T - this was a SUPER gift and Jack still enjoys it daily :)

OMG! What's that?

10ish - Grandad L keeps an eye on Jack amongst all the still to be opened pressies

Yup - Santa supped up his milk and brandy and munched through his mince pie... looks like Rudolph ate most of his carrot too!

The grand opening of Jack's new toy chest. A perfect gift from Granny and Grandad L

Safi helps with the unwrapping

One of Jack's favourite toys - his Sesame Street pop-up pals, courtesy of the Barrys

Grandad L tackles the parent-proof packaging

2.30ish - It's SO time for some fizz...

Chin Chin!

4ish - sitting down for Christmas dinner (Jack was still napping)... a bit earlier than last year, and no bread sauce mishaps!

7ish - finally time for crackers and Christmas pud (Jack had made it down from his nap a while ago)

Does my head look big in this?

A WONDERFUL first Christmas was had with our boy Jack. :) We can only imagine what next year will be like!

Dec 29 - Adam tries out the Wii we got for Christmas... Jack looks on from his exersaucre while Daddy tackles tennis in his dressing gown :))

Later on, Jack gets snuggly in his own dressing gown... another first from Auntie Ann and Uncle Joe :)

NEW YEAR'S EVE 2008-2009

Adam's folks were still with us to celebrate the New Year, and we also asked round some friends who we got to know in our birthing class. One house, 3 bedrooms, 4 babies... it was a FUN night. :)

Adam figured our first New Year with Jack was a fine time to open his treasured bottle of port, purchased from the makers when we were in Australia (I know... port.... from Oz!?).

The gang, with Jameson and Patrick, the only babies awake when the clock struck midnight! Jack and Isla were sleeping and missed it all.
L to R: John/Grandad L, Rosemary/Granny, Peter Hess, Kimberly Hess, Patrick Hess, T Yandow, Justin Yandow, Jameson Yandow, Adam/Daddy, Jayne/Mummy, Ian Underwood, Casey Underwood

Jan 2 2009 - Granny chills out with Jack on his new play mat

Later on, after his dinner, Jack gets a good tongue washing. Yes, he went through a phase of demanding we wash his tongue whenever we did his face!

Yes, there's nothing like having your togue rubbed clean with a wet flannel...

Jan 4 - a fine (but again freezing) day for a walk down by Lake Champlain. We saw some cool ice sculptures courtesy of Mother Nature...

Jan 7 - Jack gets knighted with the arrival of his new balaclava... may we present... Sir Dungalot ;) LOL!

Jan 8
- the obligatory photo of three generations of Lock men

All fantastic - loved the three men together and what can one say about Sir Dungalot! Brilliant!

Looking forward to June and Jack's first birthday....and, of course,
Dad/Grandad has not seen Burlington without snow.
