Thompsons in VT

The first two days with M&D T were taken up mainly with them eating, sleeping and getting the lay of the land.

Day 1 - Mam was on a mission to get a new pair of walking boots and a new camera to use on the rest of their jollies so we went to EMS (Eastern Mountain Store) for a snazzy pair of Merrells and then on to the Green Mountain Camera Shop in Waterbury for an even snazzier new camera... after calling in at Ben & Jerrys of course. Mmmm... mint choc chip ice cream has never tasted so good!

Day 2 - A mission of a different sort... We had to get Safi licenced and, after going to the wrong place (duh), spent a few hours downtown on Church Street browsing the stores and lunching at Sweet Waters. Then we made it to the right place so Safi is now thankfully legal in VT! We also went back to EMS to get Mam some waterproof trousers for Day 3's mission...

Day 3 - A mission impossible?? Heck no! After a fresh snowfall especially for the occasion Mam hit the Sugarbush slopes with great enthusiasm and panache... and not too much shrieking or flailing... and no injuries more's the point. Phew! Dad was all set for a shot in the bi-ski but has to be patient (oh dear, not his forte!) and wait 'til Tuesday to give it a whirl. We'll report on that later. Another highlight of the day was Adam's safe return from Amsterdam. Sounds like he had a good conference and a nice time catching up with his folks.
